On 31 March 2009 Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd passed a resolution at a meeting of the Board of Directors. The resolution states that Tsutomu Ando, currently Representative Director, will become a director on 1 April 2009. As previously notified, Tsutomu Ando is to retire from the position of director on the date of the General Shareholders Meeting to be held in June 2009.
