Tanjung Jati B power station expansion

Black & Veatch, a global engineering, consulting and construction company, has been selected by Sumitomo Corp. to provide its expertise in the expansion of the Tanjung Jati B power station in Central Java, Indonesia. Black & Veatch is providing engineering, procurement and commissioning services for the plant’s boiler island balance of plant scope. This includes equipment for coal handling and unloading, air quality control systems and limestone unloading and handling. Sumitomo Corp. is developing the project for PT PLN (Persero), Indonesia’s state-owned power utility. The expansion will add two new 660MW units to the coal-fired power station, doubling its overall generating capacity to approximately 2640MW, enough energy to meet the needs of 300,000 homes and businesses.
