400 series output increase

China’s steel mills will increase their 400 series stainless steel output as higher nickel prices are squeezing profit margins. China-based Tata Iron and Steel Co Ltd (Tisco) has announced that it will enhance the 400 series output by 50% this year. The output of 400 series has totaled 49,500tns at Qingdao Pohang Stainless Steel (QPSS), accounting for 31% of total volume. QPSS aims to increase 400 series stainless steel production by 55% from 24% last year, and adjust its production of 300 series by 35%.
