Li Cheng, executive president of China’s Stainless Steel Council ,said that the stainless steel industry is expanding in China and that it has caused changes to its stainless steel product mix, according to a stainless and raw materials conference held in Foshan. According to the conference, the ratio of stainless steel flat products mainly for CRC products has raised to 85% in 2006. The production of ferritic stainless products occupied 23% in 2006. It’s estimated that chrome-manganese (200 series) stainless product ratio has decreased to 17-18% from roughly 20% in 2004.
