Mittal’s revised offer approved

Market regulators in Belgium and Luxembourg announced that they have approved Mittal Steel’s revised EUR 23.5 billion offer for Arcelor. Regulators in France and Spain, which still need to give their clearance, are expected to approve the improved offer shortly. The Luxembourg regulator said the offer period would be extended until 5 July from a previous date of 29 June and would close at the same date in other markets where Arcelor is listed.
