Andritz and Klabin has signed a Letter of Intent under which Andritz will supply on an EPC basis the complete CTMP (Chemi-Thermo Mechanical Pulping) plant for the new board production line to be installed at the Klabin Monte Alegre mill in Telêmaco Borba, Paraná, Brazil. The start-up of the plant is scheduled for September 2007; the value of the contract amounts to EUR 50. The CTMP plant is designed for a capacity of 140,000 tons per year of unbleached eucalyptus pulp for the production of various board grades. Andritz’s scope of supply includes chip washing, impregnation, refining line, and a pulp washing system. The order also comprises a wetlap system for part of the production which is intended for use in other mills of Klabin and an effluent evaporation plant with mechanical vapour recompression technology.
