Kyrgyzstan: nitrogen fertilizer plant

Kyrgyzstan’s Agri-culture, Water, and Processing Industry Ministry and China’s CITIC International Cooperation Co. plan to build a nitrogen fertilizer plant in southern Kyrgyzstan. The plant will have capacity for 150,000 tons of ammonia, 140,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, and 130,000 tons of carbamide a year. The plant will be built at an existing coal field- Tash-Kumyr or Kok-Yangak, both in Dzhalal-Abad region. Mr Musayev said a working group has been set up that will draft a framework contract. The final agreement should be signed during a summit of the Shanghai Co-operation Organization in June.
