Hot-rolled SS price hike

AK Steel Holding Corp., a maker of carbon, stainless, and electrical steels, will raise prices for all hot-rolled stainless steel sheet, strip, tubular-quality and continuous mill plate products by about 6%. The company said the price hike is due to higher manufacturing, energy and transportation costs, and to support capital investments. The increase will be effective with shipments on 19 February 2006.
