Eddison and Wanless, fabricating engineers specialising in products for the electrical supply industry, are long standing users of plasma cutting machines supplied by ESAB Automation. Their latest investment is a Suparex plasma machine with ESAB’s new EPP 200 power source and two torch system. It provides the capability to cut and mark materials with the same torch. The company can now tandem load the plasma cutting machine, optimising the actual cutting time. Cutting and marking speeds have improved whilst the accuracy of marking is improved due to cutting and marking with the same torch. For the fabrication of a variety of electrical products including power transformer tanks, transformer ancillaries, holding vessels and radiators, Eddison and Wanless uses a range of mild steel (2mm-30mm), stainless steel (3mm -25mm) and aluminium (3mm-30mm). The EPP 200 can be fitted with a combination of torches for plasma marking and cutting. Eddison and Wanless’ two torch system includes a 100A precision PT-24 torch for cutting and marking operations. The second 200A PT-600 torch is used for cutting thicker materials precisely. Set up is a one-touch process and the database of the EPP 200 includes all the pre-set cutting parameters.
