International technology group Andritz has received an order from Jindal Stainless Steel Ltd in New Delhi to supply a continuous annealing and pickling line for cold rolled stainless steel strip. The annual capacity of the line will be 250,000 tons. Production of the first strip is expected in July 2006. The Andritz group will be responsible for engineering, supply of core equipment, supervision of erection, and start-up of the cold strip annealing and pickling line. Andritz Technologies Private Ltd, a 100% affiliate of Andritz based in Bangalore, India, will supply the mechanical parts and the electrical equipment.
