Syria: power plant

The Syrian Minister of Electricity, Muneib Saem al-Dahr, has said that the European Investment Bank has approved a loan of EUR 200 million to finance a power transformation plant. He added that the rest of the total cost of the project, which is estimated at USD 400 million would be financed by several Arab funds. The 750-MW power plant would help meet increasing demand for electrical energy in several southern areas of Syria.
