Last year Membrane Extraction Technology (MET) launched the METcell, an improved design of the chemically resistant high-pressure stirred cell that has found a home in the development laboratories of the top five pharmaceutical companies, as well as in chemical companies and universities. Now MET launches the Hastelloy METcell, for use in an even wider range of applications. The METcell is a benchtop, high-pressure stirred cell, suitable for a wide variety of membrane applications, including micro- to nano- filtrations and reverse osmosis. It can be used to develop and test new processes, or speed up existing ones. Membrane-based applications include: product purification and concentration, size separations, chemical fractionation, catalyst recovery and reuse, valuable metal separation, solvent exchange, aqueous and non-aqueous separation, reverse osmosis, and filtrations in the nano to micro scales. The presence of Hastelloy means it can be used without corrosion in applications involving halide (e.g. chloride) and weak acid solutions.
