KONE Corporation has decided to build an elevator component supply unit in the Czech Republic in order to ensure production capacity for new elevators in Central Europe. The supply unit will be located in Ústí nad Labem, a city with 100,000 inhabitants in the northwestern
Czech Republic. The city is logistically well situated with good connections to major Central European highways. The upcoming membership of the Czech Republic in the European Union affected the investment decision.
