Foster to build pharma plant in UK

Foster Wheeler Ltd has announced that its subsidiary, Foster Wheeler Energy Limited, has been awarded a contract by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to develop a front-end engineering design package and to commence work for the engineering, procurement and construction for a bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. This contract is part of an expansion project currently being carried out at GSK’s facility in Dartford, England. This project will upgrade GSK’s facilities for the manufacture of Valaciclovir, an antiviral treatment taken in tablet form. The project will be executed from Foster Wheeler’s Glasgow Operations.
