The Krohne H250 variable area flowmeter is now available with a stainless steel M9 indicator housing, creating the option of an easy-to-clean, totally aseptic unit, ideal for use in hygiene-critical applications such as food, beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The combination of a stainless steel housing and a stainless steel flow tube aims to offer customers one a cost-effective and durable variable area solution for hygienic liquid and gas flow measurement, with complete resistance to repeated cleaning. The new housing extends still further the applications for Krohne H250 flowmeter, now accepted as the industry standard for variable area (VA) flowmeters with over 1/2 million units installed world-wide. The H250 VA-meter can be tailored to give accurate and reliable results in a huge range of process applications. Its modular construction enables simple plug-in upgrading of optional features such as limit switches, flow totalisers, high temperature adaptors and 4 – 20 mA transmitter. To reduce process interruption and downtime, all options can be added at any time without having to re-calibrate the instrument.
The M9 converter can also incorporate an intrinsically safe (EExi), 2-wire design 4 – 20 mA Hart transmitter, which provides completely safe operation of the H250 variable area meter in hazardous environments. Profibus PA communication is also available for integration into more sophisticated control systems. With all wetted parts available in either stainless steel, Hastelloy or PTFE/ceramic, the H250 is ideal for process liquids or gases at temperatures up to 300C, pressures up to 40 bar, and flow rates from 2.5 to 100,000 l/h.
