As a result of greater production efficiency, Grip-Bar from Stainless UK Ltd is available at the most competitive price since its launch six years ago. With the cost differential between stainless and non-stainless products vastly reduced, Grip-Bar is being specified for a variety of projects throughout the UK where high strength and corrosion resistance are essential. âWhen life cycling costs are taken into consideration, there is an even stronger reason for using Grip-Bar in comparison with galvanised or double corrosion protected productsâ?, said Steve Worsley, managing director of Stainless UK. One of the latest projects is the Wynhole Rockface Stabilisation scheme on the M5 motorway South of Avonmouth which has been carried out by Ritchies Ltd, a division of HBG. The scheme has involved the use of more than 300 lengths of 24mm diameter Grip-Bar Grade 316. Stainless UK has also supplied 100 lengths of 20mm diameter Grip-Bar 316 with lengths varying from 2-5 metres. These have been grouted into position on the rock face and used for securing rock stabilisation and rock containment mesh. With major advantages in comparison with conventional re-inforcing bar in terms of higher tensile strength and bond strength, Grip-Bar has been used on projects as diverse as coastal defences, road buildings, water engineering and structural repair work on railway bridges and historic buildings. Grip-Bar has a coarse âuser friendlyâ? thread for rapidly installation and tightening. It is produced in 304 and 316 grades and can be cut on site without damaging the thread. With its ability to achieve a high-strength bond in grout, Grip-Bar is available in a diameter range from 12mm to 48mm with ultimate loads of 64kN to 1168kN respectively.
Grip-Bar feedstocks are maintained at a high level to provide a rapid response to customersâ requirements. A full range of components is also available from Stainless UK including full strength couplers, load, lock and hemispherical nuts as well as flat and dished plate washers.
