Peaking plant in Georgia

LG&E Power Incorporated (Fairfax, Virginia), a subsidiary of PowerGen Plc, has awarded Black & Veatch the engineering and construction contract for an 850mw peaking plant in Georgia, USA. The Tiger Creek Peaking Power Plant is being built in Washington County, Georgia by Overland Construction (Kansas City Missouri), the construction arm of Black & Veatch. Construction started 15 March 2002 and the natural gas-fired plant will consist of five 181mw General Electric (GE) Frame 7FA’s (MS7241) to produce power to the local grid.
