Pierre Alla has been appointed Président Directeur Général of Goro Nickel, a nickel-cobalt project located in the French Overseas Territory of New Caledonia. Mr Alla comes to the Goro project after working with Suez, a Paris-based multinational company that provides energy, water, communications and waste services on a global basis. Most recently, Mr Alla was Vice President Ondéo Services for South East Asia and the Pacific and Président Director of Pam Lyonnaise Jaya, a Suez subsidiary in Indonesia. Before that, he was responsible for launching Australian Water Services, a pioneering joint venture to provide filtered water to the city of Sydney, which included the largest water filtration plant in the world. Mr Alla has extensive experience in the Asia Pacific region, including New Caledonia, as Suez has been a long-term supplier of power and water to the region.
