The Materials Performance and Integrity Section of CIM is organising two international symposia in conjunction with the 40th Annual Conference of Metallurgists, to be held in Montreal, Canada, on 11-14 August 2002. Several symposia and technical sessions on various topics are scheduled during this conference. The international symposia on corrosion will cover aerospace materials and advanced materials for biomedical applications. This part of the conference intends to cover all areas of corrosion mechanisms in theory and practice, including detailed review of the present state of understanding of mechanisms, models, predictions, mitigation and risk management.
