The world stainless association has released figures for the full year of 2022 showing that stainless steel melt shop production decreased by 5.2% year–on–year to 55.3 million metric tons.
In Europe and the US, the production decreased by 12.4% and 14.8% respectively, In China and other Asian countries registered decrease by 2% and 4.9%. The rest of the world combined registered a 9.1% decrease in steel production.
