Monax Mining has started a gravity survey at its Algebuckina Designated Project in northern South Australia as part of its alliance with Chilean copper producer Antofagasta. The gravity survey will take about two weeks to complete with drilling planned for the Q3 2013.
Algebuckina comprises five tenements covering an area totalling 2,663km2....

Dual listed Besra has resumed normal operations at its Phuoc Son gold mine in central Vietnam following 5-day shutdown. Despite the production down time resulting from this event, Besra expects to meet its market guidance of 60,000 ounces to 65,000 ounces of gold for the financial year ending June 30th 2013.
The company had shutdown the mine on May 7th 2013 due to a blockage of the access road to the site by a number of individuals from the local community....

The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) North Sea Chapter recognised the very best in safety performance at its annual Safety Awards Ceremony held in Aberdeen.
“The Safety Awards Dinner is our opportunity to applaud the continous efforts of our workforce who strive daily to achieve the safest working environment possible,” said North Sea Chapter Co-Chairman, Mr Darren Sutherland of Prospector Offshore Drilling “This year’s event is particularly noteworthy as we celebrate the Chapter’s 40th anniversary and commemorate the 25th anniversary of Piper Alpha – a tragic event that initiated a significant overhaul of the North Sea safety regime.”
The current joint chairmen Gavin Sutherland of KCA Deutag Drilling and Darren Sutherland also spoke of the recent growth of activity in the North Sea and the ever increasing demand for skilled personnel.
Awards based on safety performance in 2012 were announced with Northern Offshore and Ensco winners in the Jack-ups category; Noble Drilling and Stena Drilling in the Semi-submersibles category; Archer in the Platforms; and Stena Drilling also winners in the Drillship category....

Azure Minerals has started drilling 24-hole drilling program totalling 2,800m at its Cascada copper prospect of the Promontorio copper, gold, silver project in Chihuahua Mexico. This follows up on an intercept of 70m at 2.7% copper equivalent from 41.9m from the last drilling program....
